Offroad Finnmark’s trail fund

Offroad Finnmark has grown to become Northern Norway’s largest mountain bike race, and as you know, uses the fantastic nature around us as an arena. In line with the growing number of participants, we have to tackle sustainable development. The organization has therefore decided to create the “Offroad Finnmarks Stifond”. This fund will help to facilitate a sustainable use of nature in connection with the race, before, during and after.

“We see that the tracks we are launching as this year’s route are often used a lot both before and after the race. We must therefore take our share of the responsibility to ensure that wear and tear is minimal,” explains managing director Kjetil Johansen.

Who contributes to the fund?

The way we intend to raise funds for the fund is four-fold. First and foremost, we hope that all our participants want to contribute, which is why we have included a voluntary option to contribute an optional sum in the registration solution. We follow up ourselves by donating NOK 100 per participant. In addition to this, we will challenge our partners and other companies in Finnmark to contribute. Finally, we will seek funding where there are opportunities for it.

Will benefit everyone

We want as many people as possible to benefit from our trail fund. Therefore, we also want to open up for teams, associations, hiking teams, mountain lodges, municipalities etc. can apply for funds from our fund. And then we are not only thinking in the OF route, but anywhere in Finnmark and Nord Troms.

Contribute to Alta municipality’s project

Alta municipality is embarking on a hugely exciting project with a view to a comprehensive plan for cycling in Alta. We are active contributors to this plan being as good as possible for as many people as possible.

Offroad Finnmark wants to contribute to sustainable development and the trail fund is one of the tools we have to contribute as best as possible.
