Norway’s largest county and larger than Denmark, and is situated in the northernmost area of Europe. The landscape consists of steep hills, nude coast, long and wide fjords, wooded inland valleys and endless expanses. The people is a mix of several cultures. In summer, the sun shines day and night for over two months, while the sun is under the horizon for several weeks in the winter. Finnmark is located in the middle of the northern lights, so here you have the best chance to see the northern lights in the fall and winter.

You will find some important sights in Finnmark: The rock carvings in Alta are on UNESCO’s World Heritage Site, The North cape is Europe’s northernmost point. The reunification museum in Hammerfest tells the story of World War II in Finnmark.
