Offroad Finnmark 700 SOLO

Offroad Finnmark 700 has gradually established itself as a world-renowned bike race, with participants from all over the world. The race can be described as one of the world’s hardest mountain bike races, perhaps the hardest of them all.

Every year, between 50 and 70 cyclists participate in this extreme challenge, in teams of 2 or 3 people. We in Offroad Finnmark have for a long time wanted to increase participation in this race and we have decided to develop OF700 Solo. This has been requested by many, and there is an group of cyclists for such rides around the world.

The challenge for the organizer has previously been the safety aspect of this, as cyclists can be 2-3 hours away from help, as well as in areas without telephone coverage. After 11 years of arranging of OF700, we have now gained enough experience to believe that it is safe to send cyclists out alone. There is still some aspects needed to be clarified and we need to increase readiness some. Nevertheless, we know the risky areas well and know how to quickly get to the location.
