About Finnmark

MORE ABOUT FINNMARK

Finnmark, Norway’s largest county and larger than Denmark, is the most northern part of Europe. Here there is a steep, bare coast, long, wide fjords, forested inland valleys and endless expanses. Both Norwegian, Sami and Swedish are spoken in the area. In summer, the sun shines day and night for over two months, while the sun is below the horizon even in the middle of the day for several weeks in winter. Finnmark is in the middle of the northern lights zone, so here you have optimal chances of seeing the northern lights in autumn and winter.
